FORREST HOUSE

FORREST
2012

The brief for this beautiful old house in Canberra’s Inner South was to remodel to cater for kids having grown up and to provide an improved level of modern amenity for the parents to enjoy. Forrest Housing Precinct heritage controls dictated that the footprint of the dwelling could not change and instead a clever re-organisation of spaces had to occur within the existing envelope.

As the job progressed, the brief grew and this resulted in the entire house being refurbished, with virtually every surface and detail being updated. The key to the success of this job was having a wonderful open-minded client and a close knit and collaborative project team.

The end result was the realisation of a stunning modern family home that sits comfortably wrapped in its stately Oatley & Parkes heritage skin.
